`public mixed`	# `decode( string $val, boolean $assoc = false )` Performs JSON decode. Attempts to use built in PHP json_decode if available. Performs JSON decode. Attempts to use built in PHP json_decode if available. Parameters `$val` `string` $val The value to decode `$assoc` `boolean` $assoc True to return value as an associative array, false otherwise. Returns `mixed` The decoded value in PHP format.
